With the growing demands of our modern lives and in the aftermath of the pandemic, online therapy has become a convenient alternative for accessing psychological services. To cater to your preferences and individual needs, I offer online sessions on Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Skype. Online therapy necessitates a quiet, secure environment and a reliable WiFi connection.
A: While online psychotherapy offers convenience and accessibility, it may not suit all situations. In cases where individuals are experiencing suicidal thoughts, perceive a risk to their own or someone else’s life, are at risk of domestic violence, or feel disconnected from reality, face-to-face therapy is often recommended. Additionally, the effectiveness of psychotherapy heavily relies on the therapeutic relationship. If you struggle to trust or build relationships, in-person sessions may be more beneficial. After an initial session I will assess and provide recommendations regarding the most suitable therapy medium for your needs.
A: Online therapy may be more cost-effective because it eliminates the need for travel expenses, saving clients both travel time and money. However, online therapy rates do not differ from in-person psychotherapy rates at my practice.
*Session fees are structured in accordance with medical aid rates.
